Episode Three

Since 1971 Greenpeace has gone from small band of activists to worldwide environmental brand with almost 3 million supporters and regional offices in 41 countries. The charity is known for taking headline grabbing action, and UK Executive Director, John Sauven is himself, no stranger to active campaigning duty.

During his time with Greenpeace John has floated, bound and gagged, down the river Thames, and even once tied himself to a four by four truck. But how did the teenage activist find his way into the boardroom? In this episode of QFTF Gets Personal we meet John at the UK headquarters of Greenpeace to find out about his personal journey and how it has been shaped by a career as an environmental lobbyist. We also hear how the relationship between NGOs like Greenpeace and multinational corporations has changed and continues to evolve.
